Both sons are struggling to establish themselves in new places - and paying stupid amounts of rent (and then getting moved on). What I was commenting on was how quickly I gave up my individualism once back in the city. I value living a long way away from those sorts of pressures.Harriethttp://theotherhalf-thecurateswife.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7163023090669719062.post-72726608823560359932011-10-27T19:22:01.619+01:002011-10-27T19:22:01.619+01:00Lucky you! Try not having one. At all. And having to cope with that alone.
I suggest you be grateful for what you have (which is a lot), rather than go to huge efforts to find fault either with yourself or your situation.Minniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17031126325323208656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7163023090669719062.post-79495868446340922572011-10-27T12:52:32.665+01:002011-10-27T12:52:32.665+01:00Hello Jane and Lance and welcome Friko, I think my...Hello Jane and Lance and welcome Friko, I think my disappointment came from the realisation that I wanted to look like everyone else! I value being an individual - but in London I valued being the same as everyone else! Am I a little frightened of being perceived as 'the country mouse' as well as 'the church mouse'?Harriethttp://theotherhalf-thecurateswife.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7163023090669719062.post-76641884213911504512011-10-27T11:29:53.417+01:002011-10-27T11:29:53.417+01:00But you already had the items of clothing before y...But you already had the items of clothing before you went to London, didn't you?
That simply shows that you are aware of the times and have the good sense to adapt you own style.

Following fashions slavishly is stupid but enjoying a pleasant outfit one feels comfortable in, is sensible. If it also happens to be acceptably current, what's wrong with that.

I am probably a lot older than you and I also live in the depths of the countryside but when the occasion arises, I love to dress 'up'.Frikohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04277167831642088694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7163023090669719062.post-39742991499761989892011-10-25T08:59:31.235+01:002011-10-25T08:59:31.235+01:00Hello Harriet:

But, as you say, spare us from it all!Jane and Lance Hattatthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16831890261259302647noreply@blogger.com
